How do the trial and lifetime unlock work?
Start the free 7-day trial from Settings → My Alarm Lifetime, or when saving your first plan. It starts when you confirm with Apple. After 7 days, adding, editing or enabling plans requires the one-time lifetime unlock (USD $1.99 base price; your App Store shows your local price). There is no subscription or automatic charge. Existing schedules keep working, and Stop, Snooze, Disable, Skip and Delete remain available. New calendar and weather reminders also require active access. Use Restore Purchases in Settings with the same Apple Account to recover the original trial or lifetime unlock; reinstalling does not restart the trial.
Can I record or import my own alarm sound?
Personal sounds are a My Alarm Lifetime feature. Open Sound → My Sounds in an alarm, reminder or timer, or Settings → My Sounds. Record up to 29 seconds, or import an unprotected audio file from Files and choose a short clip. Name it, preview it and save. Audio stays on your device. Replace a sound in every assigned plan before deleting it. The trial covers planning features and built-in sounds. Existing assigned sounds keep ringing if purchase verification is temporarily unavailable. If a file is missing, My Alarm uses the system sound. Test a new sound on your locked device before relying on it.
How do I change appearance?
Open the top-right three-dot menu → Settings → Appearance and choose System, Light or Dark. System follows your device’s appearance schedule. In version 1.2 and later, Settings → Theme offers 13 themes, including Original Riso, Steampunk and Classic Clock. Open a theme to preview it, then choose Use to apply it. Preview Light/Dark changes only the preview. Theme motion pauses with Reduce Motion, Low Power Mode and when artwork is off-screen. Widgets and picker thumbnails are still. Time format and temperature units follow device Language & Region settings.
How do I check ringing?
Open Settings → Alarms & permissions. Review alarm access and set a test alarm for one minute ahead. Lock your iPhone and listen. iOS draws the full-screen alarm and system Stop button. Notification-based reminders follow separate Silent and Focus settings.
How do future dates and skip work?
Use + for a new alarm and choose the date or repeating days. In Today, select a day to plan ahead. Skip changes one occurrence while keeping the routine. Reopen the app after skipped occurrences to refresh scheduling.
Why did the weather not change my alarm?
Weather needs optional approximate location, a forecast connection, and a refresh before the alarm. iOS controls background refresh timing. Open the app to refresh the plan and check Weather rules. Weather adjustments are not guaranteed.
Can an optional alarm check prevent Stop?
No. Math, shake, scan and photo checks are optional. iOS keeps its own Stop button, so a check cannot force you to complete it.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
Plans are stored locally. Delete individual records in the app. To remove all local data, choose iPhone Settings → General → iPhone Storage → My Alarm → Delete App; Offload App keeps documents and data. Manage any backups separately in Apple’s settings. There is no My Alarm account or server restore.
Do calendar and reminder imports change Apple’s apps?
No. Access is optional and read-only. Imported copies and generated alarms are local to My Alarm. Deleting the local copy does not remove your original Apple records.
How does Smart planning work in version 1.2 and later?
Open Settings → Smart planning. Paste text with Import text, or explicitly share selected text or a link to My Alarm. Shared links are treated as text and are not opened. Siri and Shortcuts can also prepare drafts. Review the date, time and sound, then Save in My Alarm before anything is scheduled. My Alarm cannot read other apps, private inboxes or notification history. On iOS 27 and later you can configure your own notification automation in Shortcuts. Drafts stay on-device and expire after 30 days.
Can calendar suggestions include getting ready and travel?
In Smart planning → Suggestions & preparation, choose calendars and starting preparation, travel and arrival-buffer minutes. While reviewing a calendar suggestion you can enter minutes or request an Apple Maps estimate between places you select. Estimates need a network connection and may change; review the time before saving. Routine suggestions are optional and use matching past one-off alarms on this device. Suggestions never move existing alarms.
How do saved-place suggestions use location?
In version 1.2 and later, Smart planning → Saved places lets you choose places and an arrival or departure suggestion. This separately needs optional Always and Precise Location permission. iOS monitors selected regions rather than continuously recording GPS. Arriving or leaving prepares a draft to review; it does not automatically schedule an alarm. Place searches use Apple Maps. Pause the feature to stop region monitoring, or remove saved places to delete their local coordinates. Weather continues to use its separate approximate location request.
