Privacy policy
Your journal stays in the app’s local storage. There is no developer-operated health-data account or journal server.
Your journal and your Watch
The app stores the information you choose to enter: medication names and instructions, dose entries, symptom check-ins, blood-pressure readings, notes and session details. When you use Watch collection, the app also stores available heart-rate observations, their times and session metadata.
The iPhone journal uses local SwiftData storage, not CloudKit. Its files use iOS file protection and are excluded from automatic device backup. There is no app-operated cloud sync or cloud restore. We do not receive your journal through a developer backend, sell it, use it for advertising or send it to an analytics service.
The paired iPhone and Watch exchange session information and observations needed for the Watch feature. The Watch retains local session checkpoints for continuity; this is distinct from an online account. Watch sessions use Apple’s workout APIs and can affect Apple Health or Fitness. The app does not save a completed workout through its collection workflow.
Optional capture and permissions
- Medication suggestions: names come from a bundled, offline medication catalog. Typing a name does not send it to a medication-search server.
- Quick Capture: supported devices use Apple’s on-device language model to draft fields for your review. The app does not send these notes to a third-party AI service. Model availability varies; manual entry remains available.
- Dictation: the app requires on-device speech recognition and does not fall back to server transcription. Microphone audio is processed in memory rather than saved as an audio recording by the app.
- Label capture: Apple Vision recognizes text on the device. The app does not upload or retain a label photo as a journal attachment. A photo you select from Photos remains under your control in Photos.
- Review before saving: capture produces an unsaved draft. You confirm the information before it becomes a journal entry.
Camera, microphone, speech recognition, Health and notification access are requested for the corresponding optional features. You can manage permissions in iPhone or Watch settings. Denying an optional permission may limit that feature without preventing manual journaling.
Apple Health and saved ECG
With your permission, the iPhone can read existing ECG recordings from Apple Health and display their recorded measurements. This is playback of saved ECG, not live ECG monitoring. ECG metadata and voltage samples are held temporarily in memory, cleared when you leave the viewer, background the app or lock the journal, and are not added to journal exports. Apple Health retains the original records independently.
Health permissions, Apple Health storage and any system-level Health synchronization are managed by Apple. Deleting this app’s records does not delete the independent records in Health.
Privacy lock, Siri and notifications
The optional privacy lock uses Apple’s device-owner authentication. The app does not receive your Face ID data or passcode. Siri and Shortcuts are optional system integrations; Apple’s handling of Siri requests is governed by Apple’s settings and privacy information. Notifications may appear on your lock screen according to your chosen settings.
Purchases and Apple reporting
Apple processes in-app purchases. The app receives StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to determine access to purchased features. We do not receive your payment-card details through the app. Apple may provide the publisher with sales, financial, app-usage or diagnostic reporting under Apple’s own services and user settings; that is separate from the journal and is not an app-operated health-data analytics system.
Retention, sharing and deletion
Journal records remain locally until you remove them. You can delete individual records where the app provides that control, or use Settings → Delete All App Data. Some saved session context is independent of a medication-library entry, so removing a medication alone does not remove every historical reference.
A paired Watch reset may remain pending until communication is available. Follow any pending-deletion message in the app. Local deletion does not erase Apple Health records, copies you already shared or Apple’s purchase records, and it does not cancel a subscription.
There is no journal cloud restore. The app’s JSON and PDF exports are user-requested reports, not a restorable backup. Restoring purchases restores eligible feature access, not your deleted health journal.
When you export or share a report, you choose its destination through system sharing controls. The recipient or destination service controls that copy. Review a report before sharing it; it can contain sensitive medication and health information.
File protection and an optional privacy lock reduce access risks but cannot guarantee security. Keep your devices protected and consider notification-preview and sharing settings.
This website and contacting us
This informational site does not include analytics scripts, advertising trackers, a contact form or third-party fonts. GitHub Pages hosts it. GitHub may process visitor IP addresses and technical request information for operating and securing its service. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
If you email support, the publisher and email service receive your email address and whatever you include. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot and keep necessary support records. Please do not send medication details, health readings, unredacted health screenshots, passwords or payment-card numbers. You may ask us about access to or deletion of your support correspondence; applicable legal recordkeeping obligations may affect that request.
